Questions about enrolment and access
Do I need prior experience? No experience is required for our foundational courses. Each course page clearly indicates the recommended starting level. Are the courses available outside Canada? Yes — while the content is designed with Canadian conditions in mind, students from anywhere in the world are welcome to enrol. Pricing is in Canadian dollars. How do I access my courses after enrolling? After completing your enrolment, you will receive a welcome email with your login details. All your courses are available immediately in your student portal. Can I share my access with a family member? Individual enrolments are for one account. Family Plan and bundle options are available for households where multiple people want access.
Questions about course content and updates
Are the courses updated over time? Yes. We update course content when new information or techniques become relevant. Students with lifetime access receive all updates automatically at no extra charge. Is there a way to try a course before purchasing? Each course page includes a free sample lesson so you can experience the teaching style and video quality before committing. Are the lessons filmed in real homes? Every lesson is shot in an actual living room, kitchen, or spare bedroom — the same environments our students learn in. You will not see a sterile studio or a perfectly curated set.
Questions about the Live Q&A sessions
How do the Live Q&A sessions work? Sessions are held monthly via live video. Subscribers can attend live and ask questions, or submit questions in advance through the student portal. Every session is recorded and added to the library within 48 hours. What if I cannot attend the live session? The recording is posted within 48 hours, so you can watch at your own convenience. Do I need to appear on camera? No. You can submit questions in writing before the session and the instructor will address them on your behalf. You never need to appear on screen.
Questions about gifting and payment
Can I give a Monstera Guru course as a gift? Yes. Every course and bundle is available as a gift enrolment. After purchase, you receive a printable e-certificate to give to the recipient, who then activates their own account. What payment methods are accepted? We accept major credit and debit cards through our secure checkout. Provincial sales tax is calculated and added at checkout based on your billing address. Can I get a consolidated invoice for multiple gift enrolments? Yes — bulk gift orders receive a single consolidated invoice, which is useful for businesses purchasing gifts for clients or staff.
Questions about getting help beyond the courses
I have a plant question that is not covered in a course — can I still get help? Absolutely. The community forum is available to all enrolled students, and our instructors check in regularly to answer questions. Live Q&A subscribers can also bring specific plant problems to monthly sessions. Can I contact the Monstera Guru team directly? Yes. Use the contact form on this site and a real member of our family team will reply personally. We do not use automated responses.
Monstera Guru Academy is designed to be as approachable as the plants it teaches you to care for. If a question is not answered here or in your course, our team is always reachable through the contact form — and a real person will reply.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to complete a Monstera Guru course?
Each course page lists an estimated content duration — ranging from around 3 hours for the Kids and Family course to 8 hours for Tropical Houseplant Foundations. Because all courses are self-paced, the actual calendar time depends entirely on you.
What happens to my access if Monstera Guru updates a course I have already completed?
All updates are included in your lifetime access at no extra charge. You will be able to access any new lessons or revised materials added to a course you have already enrolled in.
Is the community forum active, or will my questions go unanswered?
Our instructors participate in the forum regularly, and the student community is genuinely engaged. Questions are typically answered within a short time, and the forum has accumulated a useful archive of past discussions on a wide range of plant topics.
